With your help, we fight the big fights, working to end all forms of animal cruelty and achieve the vision behind our name: A Humane Missouri.
The Humane Society Legislative Fund of Missouri (HSLFMO) was formed in 2018 as an affiliate organization of the Humane Society Legislative Fund and Humane Society of the United States, two of the nation’s leading animal protection organizations.
While other animal welfare organizations tackle a vast array of issues in the education, prevention and response of animal cruelty and suffering, there is a recognition that passing critical legislation to protect animals on the state level must be an important component of the humane movement. HSLFMO works to ensure that animals have a voice throughout the halls of our state capitol and encourage state lawmakers to pass legislation to address the suffering and abuse of animals in Missouri.
The Humane Society Legislative Fund of Missouri is a non-profit political advocacy organization committed to...
Passing or opposing critical legislation regarding animal welfare and protection.
Educating the public regarding important issues impacting companion, working, wildlife, and livestock health and safety.
Electing humane candidates to office during state-wide elections.
What we focus on
We stand up and advocate for animals who are suffering.
We focus on issues relating to companion, working, wildlife and livestock animals. Our big fights in Missouri include stopping puppy mills, prohibiting exotic animal ownership and trade, fighting animal cruelty and neglect, promoting smarter wildlife management, and more.
